Mini champagne bottle wedding favors

My parents gave mini bottles of champagne as their wedding favors 32 years ago and this little classic has not gone out of style since!  In fact, brides are doing all sorts of things with these cute bottles, from using them as favors to escort cards to table numbers. I will never forget when I saw celebrity chef Donatella Arpaia’s breathtaking wedding photo spread by Christian Oth Studio in Inside Weddings– Donatella used small bottles of rose champagne (already popped with straws in them) as her escort cards… I nearly died at the adorableness of it!

The challenge with this idea comes with finding out which winemakers craft these specialty bottles and where you can buy them in bulk.   I have spent hours researching this since mini champagne is in the running as my own wedding favor, and I am sharing all I have learned with you.  All of the retailers below will ship cases of these mini bottles to you, depending on the laws of your state (most states will allow shipments of alcohol provided someone 21 years or up with a valid ID is there to sign for the package, but if in doubt check your state’s laws).  There are certainly large liquor stores and wholesalers that will sell these to you, but they can be difficult to locate and many do not carry a wide brand variety in this novel size.  Nothing is more convenient than having the goods arrive at your doorstep, and getting to personalize your wedding by selecting the winemaker you want. Read on for the valuable insights I have gleaned from my inquires. Cheers!

Moet Chandon

One of my favorite champagnes, Moet Chandon Imperial comes in the 187ML size and can be ordered online in bulk via Grand Wine Cellar. A pretty and very tasty rose version is also available here.

Martini & Rossi Asti

This sweet sparking wine has mass appeal and the bottle is timeless with the retro Martini label and sliver foil wrapping. Large quantities can be ordered online at WineWeddingFavors.com.

Korbel

Korbel is a fantastic option for the budget conscious bride, as it is a little less pricy than options such as Moet Chandon. Shipped from directly from the vineyard in California, you can order it on the Korbel website.

Nicholas Feuillatte

Another relatively budget friendly and delicious choice is Nicholas Feuillatte’s mini bottles of brut blue label and rose champagne. I love the cute “1/4″ bottle packaging!  Sold by the case at a discount online at WineOLand.

Pommery POP

Pommery Champagne Pop Art series 187ML bottles are just as adorable as the name sounds! Available online from SK Wines, discounted by the case.

Francis Ford Coppola Sofia

Cans of Blac de Blancs. PINK cans!  Enough said. Sofia can be ordered through the Francis Ford Coppola website in packs of four.

Your local vineyard

This photo was taken by me during a trip my fiancé and I took to an amazing vineyard in southern New Jersey, Renault Winery. We loved the sparkling wines they produced and inquired about specialty sizes for weddings, which they (happily) accept special orders for.  I absolutely LOVE this option because it allows you to treat your guests to a type of wine they may never have tasted, and the experience of picking a particular sparkling wine is tons of fun! Bonus: most vineyards will allow you to personalize your label like the sample one above. If you live in or close to an area that produces wine, this is an option you should definitely look into!
